Welcome to St John’s.
We’re a church at the heart of Wortley and Farnley and we would love to welcome you. Whether you’ve been part of church your whole life, haven’t been for years, or are just curious about faith, there is space for you.
We believe that when we draw near to God, he draws near to us. In his presence lives are changed. So everything we do, our Sunday services, children and youth groups, community events, prayer gatherings, and midweek meet-ups, is about creating space to encounter Jesus and to grow together.
We’re ordinary people learning to follow Jesus in everyday life: in our families, workplaces, schools, and streets. We love our parish. We love seeing friendships formed, children thriving, faith deepened, and life transformed as they encounter Jesus.
You don’t need to have it all figured out to come along. Just come as you are.
We’d love to meet you, hear your story, and help you find your place here at St John’s.
9am
This is a traditional service of Holy Communion with hymns, robes, a sermon, and liturgy. Structured without being overly formal. Perfect for those seeking a sense of calm. Refreshments are served afterwards.
1030am
An informal, energetic, interactive service with activities for children. We sing worship songs, pray for each other, hear from the Bible, and break bread and share wine each week. Ideal for families. Pop in from 10am for a tea or coffee beforehand.
